Happy Friday Everyone!
It has been a great week, but everyone is looking forward to the weekend. Even those of us who are retired. There is always something exciting about a weekend. Beware of the Fools going around today! Ha!
Today, I am sharing with you a unique card that I made yesterday. It is called the Double Dutch card. My fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Penni Behr posted one on a group we are in and I was fascinated by it. Penni gladly gave me the link of the demonstrator that she saw the card on, so I visited her blog. So a huge Thank You to Penni Behr and to Jan Farring of Jans Stamping Creations for the creative ideas. Jans site is jansstampingcreations.com.
Here is my card
Front
Here are the details on how to make it!
Base: Cardstock (I used Soft Sky). Cut one piece 4 3/16" x 9". Cut another piece 8 1/2" x 2".
Inside: Cardstock (I used Blushing Bride). Cut one piece 5 1/4" x 4".
Top Panel: Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. Cut one piece 4" x 3 1/4".
Bottom Panels (the 2 small squares that fold up to meet in the middle): Cut 2 pieces 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" (mine was out of the Blushing Bride). Cut 2 pieces out of the Designer Series Paper 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".
Top Panel Flap (not too visible in my front shot): Cut 1 piece of cardstock (Soft Sky) 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Instructions:
Score the 4 3/16" x 9" piece at 5".
Score the 8 1/2" x 2" piece at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".
Adhere the 8 1/2 " x 2" piece to the bottom of the card on the long side (I attached it to the back on the outside, but you can put it on the inside as your Inside panel piece will cover it). This establishes the two small front flaps that meet in the middle. Fold on the score lines and use your bone folder to make a good crease.
Stamp your sentiment on the Inside 5 1/4" x 4" piece and adhere to inside of card (see inside picture I used the sentiment from the Birthday Blooms stamp set).
Adhere the Designer Series Paper 4" x 3 1/4" piece to top flap on outside.
Adhere the 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" pieces to bottom flaps on front (mine is Blushing Bride).
Adhere the 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" pieces to bottom flaps on front (mine is the Designer Series Paper).
Use the #4 (from the inside) framelit from "Lots Of Labels" Framelits on the 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece (mine was the Sky Blue). Adhere to the top flap only about 2/3 to 1/2 way down (or up).
Next, I embellished it with flowers using the Botanical Builder Framelits. I put the bling on the flowers using the Rhinestones. I love me some bling!
Whew! That was quite a lengthy segment. I will have to start doing video instructions – all in good time. Jan (jansstampingcreations.com) has several more examples and she gives detailed instructions also.
Hope everyone will give this card a good try. It sounds more difficult than it really is. If you do make this Double Dutch Card ~ I would love to see your pictures. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend, Creating With Paper!

So cute, Michelle! It sort of looks like a house. I’m thinking it could be adapted to be a congrats on a new home card.
